Your little girls will love giving a fun, “You ROCK Valentine!” to each of her friends complete with an awesome eraser ring. I love the idea of sugarless valentines because I have food allergies myself. I also appreciate that this “trinket” has a dual purpose as an eraser, because let’s be honest, ain’t nobody need more trash! Or maybe that’s just me…at least it is useful right? - Diamond eraser rings
- 1 sheet of cardstock
- Colorful baker’s twine
- 1/4″ hand punch
Where to Shop
Each bag of 12 eraser rings cost me about $3 so that comes to $0.25 a valentine, pretty good right?! I got mine at Walmart from the valentine section, but I’ve heard they are also at the Target Dollar Spot. Sadly, I haven’t found them on Amazon for a good price or I would send you there so you wouldn’t even have to leave your house.
I love having cardstock on hand just for printable projects like this. You can get a stack of 80 sheets of cardstock from Walmart for about $4! For cardstock, I recommend using 65 lb weight (which is what I used) or higher. I did find this awesome deal on heavy cardstock on Amazon if you’re looking for a thicker cardstock.
I found three small spools of colorful baker’s twine from the dollar store which is perfect for small gifts.
You can find hand punches at any craft store and walmart or Target will have them too!
You ROCK Valentine Printable
Now that you have all your supplies, it’s time to print the valentine! Download it here: You ROCK Valentine! Printables
You may not have caught it yet, but this valentine has a play on words, You ROCK Valentine, notice the “rock” part. The nice thing about this printable is that the play on words is subtle enough, you can also use it for other valentines if you want! And don’t worry, I won’t be offended if you don’t want to use the eraser ring idea. 🙂
For this project, I used white cardstock because the printable has colored ink, but if you wanted you could print in black and white and on colored cardstock. Each sheet contains 30 printable squares, plenty for most classes.
Next use scissors or a paper cutter to cut around each square. Punch a hole at the top of each one. Have your little one write their name on the back of each square.
Use a small piece of colorful baker’s twine to attach the printable to the ring.
