A Short Story
Have you ever had an idea, like something you wanted so badly to do or finish or try and it seems like over and over again it gets set on the back burner? Life happens. Work, kids, school…and all the priorities in between. Well this project was a long time in the making. Several years ago I was thinking of a fun way to keep my daughter entertained at church or at appointments with something that didn’t require a battery to operate. I came up with my first rendition of the Pop Up Book and Paper Doll House set and then it sat on my shelf for 7 years. At least I dusted if off occasionally. I tried meeting with publishers. Showed it to printers in Asia, but it hadn’t found its right place until now.
Have you ever cut something out with an xacto knife and by the end your fingers are permanently curled into a claw? Well if you have, you might cry when you see how completely and ridiculously easy it is to print and cut out the most detailed of projects with Cricut’s new print and cut feature. Seriously, cried my eyes out and then stared in bafflement thinking, “It really took less than a minute to cut what usually took me an hour.”Auh-Mazing!
See what all the joyful tears are about:
About the Project
There are two major components of this huge project we are unveiling with Cricut. There is the Pop Up Book and there are the Paper dolls. Each and every items is chuck full of details and whimsy and are sure to keep those little people you know busy dreaming up stories and adventures. The artwork to make all these things is available through Cricut’s design space. Whether is just the dolls your after or a particular Pop Up Book page, the sets work independently and together so you can mix and match what you want. But I am pretty sure you’ll want it all. Check out our Brand Page on Cricut.
All Dolled Up
If you are having frightening flashbacks to the paper dolls of yester-year, rest assured that these are a major improvement in so many ways. For starters, no more wardrobe malfunctions….the clothes are secure. Tiny tabs tuck into slits, just like a cereal box lid and bam its done. There are plenty of accessories and cute head bands to mix and match, and can I just mention the bunny slippers. You must check out the bunny slippers. Check out the project page with the variety of dolls and wardrobes to choose from.
