Good morning! Summer is finally here and so is all the fun that goes with it. Playing in the pool and park all day long everyday can sure tire your little ones out so make sure you start your day with a protien packed breakfast.
These german pancakes are SO easy (only 5 ingredients) and is packed with protein and simple everyday items, top with lots of fruit and you’ve got a complete meal that will keep your kids’ energy up all day!
This recipe does call for using your oven, so be sure to get this done early in the day or you’ll be “cooking” in your house (pun intended )!
- 6 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 5 tablespoons butter
- Pre-heat oven to 425 degrees.
- Whip eggs until thick and lemon colored. Add milk, flour and salt. Mix well until batter is no longer lumpy.
- Place butter on glass 9" X 13" baking pan and place in pre-heated oven. Wait until butter is melted. Use spatula to spread butter to coat bottom of pan.
- Pour batter on top of melted butter and bake for 25 to 30 minutes. until edges are golden brown and center is cooked through.
One thing to mention, before you worry is that this batter will climb up and above the side of your pan. No need to worry as this is normal, so don’t panic! Here’s a picture of how my german pancakes looked when they were done.
