So this post started out as a prep for your upcoming Halloween party, but I got distracted with all the fun family friendly Halloween movies that I’ll have to follow up with more of a party planning post later. Watch for a round-up later this week for EASY Halloween recipes! Below you’ll find a list of movies with their rating, and a quick synopsis with a link to where you can purchase them.
If you’re looking for Halloween movies for your baby or toddler, a few of these may work but plenty TV show series have Halloween versions, such as Winnie the Pooh, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Curious George, Barney & Friends and even a Toy Story Halloween episode!

Family Friendly Halloween Movies:
Casper (1995) PG:In this mixed cartoon and realife film, main character Kat, moves into an abandoned house with her dad when they find four occupying ghosts, one of which is Casper, the friendly ghost. Full of fun and laughs.
Blackbeard’s Ghost (1968) Approved: This one is one of my husband’s childhood favorites. Blackbeard , a pirate was jinked by his witch wife so that he would never die. To break the curse, he must do something good. Full of laughs.
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971) G:Charlie finds the last golden ticket in his Wonka Bar for the opportunity to tour Mr. Wonka’s Chocolate Factory. Full of oddities and imagination.
Alice in Wonderland (1951) G:The classic Disney cartoon where Alice falls into Wonderland and starts her journey to return home meeting the Mad Hatter, Cheshire Cat, the White Rabbit and the feisty Queen of Hearts. Full of fantasy and mystery.
E.T. (1982) PG: Follow E.T. as he finds his way back home from earth. Full of intrigue and fun.
Hocus Pocus (1993) PG:Three witch sisters are resurrected to scare and terrorize the city of Salem on Halloween. It’s up to Max, Dani and Allison to stop them. Full of mystery and scares.
Goonies (1985) PG:Neighborhood friends search for hidden pirate treasure. Full of adventure and thrills.
Monster’s Inc. (2001) GMike and Sulley are the top scare team of Monstropolis, scaring children to generate power. The irony, all scare monsters are scared of children. Full of laughs and fun.
The Wizard of OZ (1939) PG:The original OZ, where Dorothy finds she isn’t in Kansas after a tornado whisks her away to the land of OZ. She embarks on her journey to find the Wizard to find her way home. Full of friendship and color.
Frankenweenie (2012) PG:Sparky the dog comes back to life after his owner, Victor’s science experiment. Full of entertainment with a little darkness.
The Witches (1990) PG:Based off one of my favorite childhood Halloween books by Roald Dahl, little boy Luke, must stop a society of witches (with square toed shoes), but has been turned into a mouse. Full of surprise and fantasy.
Hotel Transylvania (2012) PG:In this fun packed animation, Dracula tries to save his daughter from a surprise visitor on her 118th birthday. Full of laughs and entertainment.
Double Double Toil and Trouble PG:Cute Olsen twins are on a quest to stop their evil witch aunt from harming their family. Full of adventure and laughter.
Monster House (2006) PG: This fun animation takes you along with three teenagers as they find that a house in their neighborhood is actually a living monster. Dramatic and entertaining.
The Little Vampire (2000) PG: Little boy Toni finds himself friends with a vampire. Full of charm and magical fun.
Adventures of Ichabod & Mr.Toad (1949) Approved:
Another one of my childhood favorites made by Disney. Full of humor and fright.
