I have to admit, I do think Facebook “stalking” is not normally the best, BUT it can serve a good purpose. Someone you know might need a little cheering up or help and that’s where these easy watercolor gift tags come in. P.S. Did I mention they are ombre!?
Well, last night I saw a post from my new neighbor who was homesick. She and her husband, along with their three darling kids just moved away from lots of family and friends. I saw the post and thought I could help in someway, because even little things seem to make the biggest difference sometimes.
I came up with these beautiful watercolor gift tags and paired one with some cutesy pencils and bakers twine from the dollar spot at Target. (I love the dollar spot!) I also picked up a Papa Murphy’s pizza for their dinner tonight since it can be used on the spot or frozen and used later. The perfect combination, but sadly they weren’t home. I took this gift over to another friend and will be sure to make another for my new neighbor.
Today was the first time I used watercolors and I have to say, it is SO fun and much easier than I thought. I picked up some watercolor paper, a brush and watercolors and got to work. I wanted the tag to match the gift so I used a bright pink and painted an ombre gradient. Here’s how it turned out!
Probably not the best work of art, but I’m working at it. Maybe in the future I’ll be good enough to give you a watercolor tutorial. 🙂
These easy watercolor tags were cut using my handy dandy Fiskars Tag Punch (affiliate) and eyelet setter. I recently found this when I was shopping at Joann’s and had to get it and I’m sure glad I did. I added the simple words, You are Loved with a black fine tip marker and then tied it up with a little more baker’s twine.
This easy watercolor tag was simple and quick to make, but it made the gift in my opinion. Who doesn’t love a little homemade sentiment, right? Happy crafting!
